For information regarding Carlton's current band from Takaka, Aotearoa/New Zealand
Carlton has been involved with original pop/rock bands since he was at secondary school in the late 1970's.
He has recorded songs he's written and placed them on 45's, EP's, LP's, CD's & mp3's...on reel-to-reel & digital...in recording studio's, apartment lofts & on his desktop in his bedroom.

PSYCHEDELIC LEMONS (2009-2026)
The Psychedelic Lemons have been around since 2009 and is Carlton's outlet for his left over pieces, not contributed/attributed to other bands.
It is an eclectic collection of homeless waifs and strays, an orphanage of character pieces, that eventually found shelter under the same umbrella.
Songs dedicated to German Expressionist film makers of the 20's & 30's, one about the Salem witch trials, and a quirky reworking of a psychedelic classic, Green Tambourine.
A song dedicated to film extras, an ode - of sorts - to the film industry...another about vampires, another about a ship wreck, one featuring Andy Warhol eating a hamburger.
The Psychedelic Lemons have put out two LP's; Lamp of the Cosmic Excess and Paradigm. They have provided incidental film music for several short film projects.

THE CURRIES, BLANCHE JARVIS & ZUBRIC (2005-2009)
DIZRHYTHMIA (1992-2026)

Between 1992 & 1996, Carlton was involved in an acoustic act with Philip Hartshorn, called Dizrhythmia. The duo started out in Queenstown, playing at the local markets and in cafe's.
They recorded in Dunedin in 1993 and the following year, in Wellington, finally releasing their debut and only CD, Recipes For Modern Life, in 1996.
There best known song, 'Get in the Car', is featured below on YouTube, complete with an interview with Carl and Phil, by Dave Wilkins of Radio Access, Kapiti.
THE PAGANS (1988-1990)

The Pagans were a four piece pop/rock band from Thorndon, Wellington, who were resident at the Western Park Tavern for six months and prominent around other pubs and night clubs in the capital city during their time.
They recorded several times with Marcus Wilson (Word of Mouth Studio, Sesqui Carnival) and their last gig at the Carpark Performance Cafe on Plimmer Steps, was recorded live by Denis Cody.
Failing to secure record company backing was unfortunately, the end of the line for The Pagans.

WALRUS (1979-1982)

Carl (as he was known then), formed his own band called Jade, while still at secondary school in Wellington.
As he was only 16, Walrus (as they'd become) was only really an opportune vehicle for a young would-be songwriter, to experiment with writing lyrics, while his second cousin removed, on his fathers uncles side...wrote some music and most conveniently, taught Carl how to play the guitar.
